Op zondag 31 augustus staat zij aan de start van de TCS Sydney Marathon 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Na Londen, Chicago, Tokio en Parijs is Sydney de volgende op het marathonlijstje van Sifan Hassan. Zondag 31 augustus zal zij namelijk aan de start staan van deze Abbott Major Marathon!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Grote impact<\/strong><br \/>\nHassan heeft al een grote impact gemaakt op de mondiale marathonwereld door twee World Marathon Majors te winnen: Londen in 2023, waar ze triomfeerde in haar debuut over de afstand, en Chicago later dat jaar, waar ze een persoonlijke beste tijd neerzette van 2:13:44, de op twee na snelste tijd in de geschiedenis. Sindsdien werd ze vierde bij de marathon van Tokio 2024, pakte ze goud op de marathon bij de Olympische Spelen in Parijs in een olympische recordtijd van 2:22:55 nadat ze brons had gewonnen op zowel de 5000 als de 10.000 meter. Onlangs behaalde ze een podiumplaats bij de TCS London Marathon 2025.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nieuwe uitdaging<\/strong><br \/>\nDat Sifan van uitdagingen houdt is ons niet onbekend. De volgende op haar lijstje is Sydney: &#8216;Ik kijk er echt naar uit om weer een Major te lopen,&#8217; zegt Hassan. &#8216;Australi\u00eb is zo&#8217;n sterk atletiekland. Ik vind het geweldig om deel uit te maken van hun eerste Major-marathon.&#8217; Niet alleen Sifan gaat de Australische uitdaging aan. Gisteren maakten zowel Eliud Kipchoge als Nederlander Bjorn Koreman bekend dat ook zij aan de start zullen staan in Sydney. Koreman schrijft op zijn Instagramaccount: &#8216;Deze zomer zal ik aan de start staan van de Sydney Marathon! Ik kan niet geloven dat dit mijn eerste echte Abott Major Marathon zal worden.
